ESTA - Electronic Travel Authorization System
As of January 12, 2009, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is mandatory for all travelers arriving in the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). VWP allows citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, holders of ordinary biometric passports, to enter the US without a visa for a tourist or business visit up to 90 days.
ESTA approval authorizes a traveler to board a carrier for travel to the United States under the VWP.
It is advised that you apply for an ESTA approval on the webiste of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, at: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/.
The registration fee is 14 USD. If the fee is higher, it may mean that you are on a fake website and that the ESTA obtained will not be valid. It is recommended that you register at least 72 hours before your trip.
An approved ESTA is granted for a period of two years, or date of passport expiry.
If you do not receive US travel approval, you can contact the US Embassy in Ljubljana for visa information.
Slovenian citizens are not eligible to be admitted to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program if they have traveled to or been present in Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Libya, Somalia and Yemen on or after March 1, 2011 (with limited exceptions for travel for diplomatic or military purposes in the service of a VWP country) or if they are also citizens of Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria.
Detailed information on entry into the United States can be found on the website of the US Embassy in Ljubljana, at https://si.usembassy.gov/visas/visa-waiver-program/, and on the CBP website.
Individuals traveling on valid visas are not required to apply for an ESTA authorization
