RECEPTION FEATURING SLOVENIA AMBASSADOR & THE WOODS ARE STILL GREEN SCREENING

Dr. Božo Cerar, Slovenian Ambassador to the U.S., will visit the National World War I Museum in conjunction with a free public reception at 6 p.m. in the J.C. Nichols Auditorium Lobby. The reception precedes a screening of the internationally acclaimed Slovenian-Austrian film The Woods Are Still Green at 7 p.m. in J.C. Nichols Auditorium. The film, which premiered in 2014 and was written and directed by Marko Nabersnik, tells an enthralling story about a group of Austria-Hungarian artillery soldiers located in the mountains on the southern front opposing Italy during World War I and their experiences coping with the nightmares of war. Co-sponsored by the National World War I Museum, Kansas City FilmFest and Barbara Koval Nelson, Honorary Consul for Slovenia in the Midwest.
