The Slovenian artist Eva Petrič has been invited to participate at the prestigious art exhibition at the
Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City on the theme The Value of Sanctuary: Building a
House Without Walls. The exhibition will feature more than thirty world known artists including Kiki
Smith, Francis Cape, Louise Bourgeois, La Toya Ruby Frazier, Cassils, Robert Longo, Tomas Van
Houtryve, Jenny Holzer and others. Eva will participate with her monumental lace art piece Collective
Heart made from over a thousand recycled vintage doilies as well as with three other lace
assemblages forming the SafetyBlanket installation.
Collective Heart at St. John the Divine will be Eva’s 26th site-specific lace installation. Last June,
her One World – A World for All was exhibited at the Delegates Entrance of the UN in NYC, reminding
world leaders of the state of our planet. This and other installations from all over the world are
presented in her just published monography WEBbing (Drava). For her TRANShomoPLANTATION she
received the Grand Prix of the Kranj Festival in Slovenia in 2017.
Parallel to the exhibition at the St. John the Divine, Eva's other works, mainly in the medium of photography, will be displayed at a solo show:
